you can use glue if u want so what u do is get ur thin leather and fold it in half and glue it together then apply contact glue to both surfaces and let it dry then stick together or stich ( my way) what have to punch the holes in the hood leather like u do when attaching the side panels to the center panel, but dont put holes in the pipping ,there is a dvd by ron rollins that is a god send to buy and worth getting mate.

the shine is put on after burnishing with a wooden dowel or as i used a persex one (both as good) and then put a few coats of sadlee lac i used to get all my gear from leprevo www.leprevo.co.uk

Some excellent work there fellas!!.The only hoods I ever made were for my Sakers and they were of the one piece type.Unfortunately I gave up falconry and hawking many years ago but somewhere I still have a hood I made if I can find it and work out how I'll post a pic,it was functional but no where near the league of those already shown, well done chaps.

been in to it for a long time mate ,regarding hood making i dont make them anymore due to my back issue and not being able to sit that long ,if u want me to help u out in marking hood thats not a problem but u will need a set of hood blocks and ur looking at around $600 for a half set of hood blocks ,the ones on flebay are crap and there a waist of space ,same as everything u get what u pay for but believe me u soon get ur money back once ur at a good enough standard
