frankel 2,123
Don is 5/8 collie and wasn't bred for hares day or night on any land.. im sure he would take a few but not as many as Swift would. . Luckily enough we have 2 dogs that run on flat land or rough terrain so can pick and choose which one we prefer to run.. horses for courses .. 2 Quote Link to post
fazza123 517
I'm sick of hearing " the dogs only good on so and so land " ?? A good dog will be good on any land it runs and can't be blamed for running well on land it runs week in week out ?!!! 1 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,327
I'm sick of hearing " the dogs only good on so and so land " ?? A good dog will be good on any land it runs and can't be blamed for running well on land it runs week in week out ?!!! The dog in question will run on any land BUT if you had two cars on your drive one a 1.0L and the other 2.5L and were planning on doing a 400 mile run on the motorway which car would you take? Without question it'd be the 2.5L and if you were popping to the shop the 1.0L would be more efficient would it not? No difference imo...yes they'd both do the job but each would be better than the other at certain tasks. Holy shit it ain't rocket science it's called COMMON sense!!! ATB Andy. 2 Quote Link to post

A good dog will be good on any land it runs and can't be blamed for running well on land it runs week in week out ?!!! well i suppose thats what (we) all after a dog that can catch all quarry on any land, and some times you drop lucky . I do think some xs do excel at 1 quarry more so than others, as long as the dogs are catching there quarry, i think for daytime hunting colliexs take some beating my dog is brill in the day, bullxs are the best for things that bite back, xs for differnt jobs. as long as they catch game they done there job.
