I don't know why but, there will always be a day when you and your kit just won't gel together. I had this conversation with an All England champion clay pidgeon shot. He says it's just one of those unexplainable things in shooting. It's happened to him with a competition shotgun worth tens of thousands.

I've known times when one of my rifles, that was absolutely shooting clean and true only a day or two before, suddenly felt like a dead, lifeless weight at my shoulder, I just could not get comfortable with, the next day out. It happened to Andy last time we were out too, with his HW90; and that rifle's bloody deadly accurate in his hands. It'll happen again, I reckon Gary, to all of us at some stage or another.

Thing is, not to worry about it mate.

That was an odd day though, Simon. For some wierd reason I couldn't hit a barn door with the 90 which I know is shooting fine, you tried it yourself with no problems at all but I was OK with the Ratty...!!??

I'm glad I fetched it along that day. Two nice bunnies and a squirrel weren't too happy though :D

that happened to me and si (zini) when i had my prosport i couldnt hit a thing so i gave si a shot and he never missed 1 shot lol

It is odd sometimes, Gary. It was a couple of weeks back, we set up as normal to check zero and also for me to set up a new scope. I got a rough zero but I couldn't hold a tight consistant group for love nor money. I was convinced the scope was faulty

I asked Simon to give it a go and within no time it was back to it's normal tight groups. Gave it back to me and again, I couldn't produce acceptable results :icon_redface:

Luckily, I'd fetched the Ratty along too so I dug it out of the car and very quickly I was shooting well with it. I know it was down to me and not the 90 or the change of scope. The only thing I can maybe put it down to is the new scope's a good bit bigger and has to be mounted higher on the rifle, so maybe the change in the gun's balance was throwing me off. More practice needed!!
