Guzzik 1
At the risk of sounding totally thick, how do you start out in ferreting? I am assuming just buying two ferrets and a net is not the way:) I have permissions by the way that I shoot over and am now going to Snare over, was thinking about ferrets though and you are the guys to chat to about it all:) Quote Link to post
The one 8,488
Thats the best and easiest way mate a ferret or two and some nets go out and enjoy yourself any rabbits are a bonus . then it gets serious you buy loads of gear a locator and it ends up like a job instead of a fun day out Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Find someone local and invite them out with you on your ground. If you like it do it under their guidence a few times then get your own ferrets and gear Quote Link to post
NEWKID 27,273
Agree with Tyla I'm sure there would be someone who would love a day out with their ferrets on some new permission, at least then you know if it's for you before getting ferrets. You may find youself a ferreting partner too, it's always easier with a couple of you. Good luck Mate Quote Link to post

BunnyBolter 16
Theres a few good books to hand , have a look on the net . one of my first books were Ferrets and Ferreting by Peter Whitaker for the working side and for the care was Ferrets care and breeding by Ian C. Rickard. two very good books and sure to teach you a thing or two. Quote Link to post
