rogue male 8
Well thats the DSC1 done and dusted. Really enjoyed the course, but so glad i put the work in at home/on the range before attending. Out of 19 of us starting 6 failed. Surprised me how many people who could obviously shoot, and had been for years, went to "ratshit" because they were being assessed on the range! Definatley not just an attendance course. Just submitted my certificate, FAC and variation paperwork to Devon and Cornwall Police. Been told by the FEO that its going to be 4 months or so before i get it back! Suppose it gives me time to save for my 243. Quote Link to post

Caprelous 217
I agree with Martin thats not acceptable month to 6 weeks at most . I presume from what you say you have supplied the references and met the criteria and shown cause why you need a certificate. in where you intend to use your firearm should it be granted. then theres only the holding security checks that need to be made. if they require medical checks etc they have to pay for those so i am informed but all this can be done in a week by a proficient police force or less. with a variation as in your case that can be done in a day Edited October 17, 2011 by Caprelous Quote Link to post
rogue male 8
Was mentored for nearly a year prior to attending my DSC1 course. Sent details of all this along with my certificate etc. Spoke to the FEO with regard to photocopying my FAC in case im stopped whilst my certificate is away, explained all of the above and was told its going to be approx 4 months before i get it back. Very busy. My mate just got his SGC after a very long wait and i'm sure it was down to him phoning up trying to chase it up?! Guess i'll just have to be patient and wait. Quote Link to post
