Can I Use A Long Range Terrier Finder For Ferreting ?

Can any one hellp i was going to buy a ferret finder but i also have a puppy terrier so i didnt want to buy 2 locators if i buy the long range terrier finder can i buy a ferret collar and use the bit of the terrier collar?

Any help would be appreciated.

mate has had the terrier finder but doesnt rate it at all for dog work hes gone over to the bellman and flint system and thats fantastic no use for the ferrets though i wouldnt be using the deben set for your terrier mate much better systems about when dealing with deeper earths.

 

as a ferrte finder the mk3m is fantastic when working but does have its problems as highlighted in the many posts about it on here

Thought if you got the mk3m the units the same you just had to swap from ferret to terrier collar

Is the 40ft collar as accurate as the ferret collar? I use the old mk3 (not mk3m) ferret collar on my terrier, just change the strap which is the same diameter.

A lot of lads think so but there hard to acquire in a good new condition so you might have to go with a mk3

The MK3 is miles better once you get the hang of it mate just some lads are stuck in the dark ages and cant get their heads round using it, if you've never used a mk1 and are learning from scratch with a mk3 you'll be laughing

no iv never used the mk1 and im just starting out so mk3 it is then is that the black 1?

comes in black or orange id go for the orange not so easy to miss when your packing up. dont think the receivers are the same for the long range and the 16ft though

so whats the differnce with the mk3 and the mk3m? i think ill only need the 16ft

mk 3 no longer available 3m comes with collars that are switched on and off by a magnet the mk 3 you have to remove the batteries or break the battery connection.
