falcongit 242
hi all,i was up at 5am this morning for work got done for 11am,i got home and got all my gear ready to go out with the new rifle sun was shineing, great ,got some target posts made up for some plinking, dident take long to get the sites set up about 100 pellets, lol, thats the trouble with new rifles it takes time for them to bed in,but i was hiting bully at 20m and 30m.so decided to have a wander round my permision, there was a few woodys about but they spotted me before i spotted them, got to the bottom of the field and theres a drain there, wasent expecting all the ducks that flew of there must have been 50+ they scared the sh-t out of me ,anyway walk some more to the other side and as i was walking along i spotted a hare pokeing its head up out of the new rape that was growing which was across the dyke so had to get across that with out makeing to much noise which is not easy with size 11 boots lol,got to the top of the bank on the other side and was laid down,i could see it but was to far from me maybe 60m or so,so had to crawl closer on my belly, got the range finder out lazed it at 26m,got set up with the trypod and waited to get my breath back getting on now lol, took the shot hit the hare in the head, the bloody thing jumped up and ran of abit then stopped and keeled over, went over quickly just in case i had wooded it but it was dead never had that happen before, check the hares head for the pellet entry and i defo got it in the head, got all the wee out of its blader, then gutted it in the field job done, left it at the car and carried on walking round the field, got the mobile out to ring the missis because she had rung me as i was talking to her a hare had herd me talking on the phone and was legging it ,i told the misses to bugger of and went the same way i seen the hare running got in front of it but it spotted me and legged it the othe way so of i went the other way crossed over the dyke in front of the hare again and i could just see its ears popping up above some cut down trees and brabbles so got abit closer to the cut down trees which gave me some cover, but had to be a nealing shot at 31m, got him this one was straight down, same again gutted him in the field its better to do it there than stinking the house out,and that was that, hope it makes for a good read. prestige kub sl thumbhole stock in .22 cheers symon Edited October 15, 2011 by falcongit Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Hiya Sym, Nice work healthy looking Hares I've heard some good things about the KUB and nothing as yet bad. Lovely shots on the Hares, but you feed the mutts with em? How very dare you! Hare is one of the finest meats on the planet I wish I had some Hares on my perms rather than the big old Mares.
