bird 9,947 Posted October 15, 2011 Report Share Posted October 15, 2011 mine was a beddy x whippet, grey, everything you want a lurcher to do it didnt it was WANK., it was my 1st lurcher and it could have been my last .!! it never brought back, hard mouth,hunt up, fight dogs but not a fox. It was the only dog in 25 years that i never got on with, never really got a bond i suppose. I know they are popular x,( but not for me), rather have bullx any day of the week. One thing i have learned over the years, is that if you want a good alround type lurcher, you want beat lurcher to bred with bit of collie or GSD or bull in the mix with no more than a 1/4 of either, from proven parents ., then you in with a fighting chance . 1 Quote Link to post

ftm 3,357 Posted October 15, 2011 Report Share Posted October 15, 2011 1st dog i got was bought from local gypsy camp lived under the caravan ,i thought to myself its going to be a great dog its from gypsies[i was only 16 so please forgive my ignorance lol] she was stag hound x anyother hound that walked the gypo camp she was a honest little thing and gave me a few canny years hunting but my work circumstances changed and a family member took her on and she lived till 16 yrs Quote Link to post
