boroboyoli 0
If you were a young hunter like I am you would perhaps understand how hard gaining permission is. I have had no luck in the past couple of months and subsequently haven't used my air rifle much. I was wandering if perhaps anyone could show me the ropes and show me how to shoot. I live in Buckinghamshire and if interested please pm me . Atb Oli

chr1sM 0
I would definitely get BASC membership first and I have found that if you knock on a few doors, come across safe and reliable and holding the right paper work they are normally happy to give you a try. It's been fairly new to me getting permission as when I just used a sub 12lb air rifle I could usually go out with others but once I got into bigger toys there seemed to be less room so I had to get my own place of which I have the roam of a good 2000 achres now. persistance will also be good

Bunny Boiler 177
Get good at shooting, killing and hunting. I assume you're talking mostly about air rifling bunnies? Document everything you kill. Photos are best. That way, when you bump into the land owner, you can tell him/her how well you've done on their land. If you do well, they will talk to people, people will talk to you, you gain more land. It's like a giant snowball. I moved house recently and gained some work with a local farmer. He got to know me, and within a month, I had the majority of his fields, after only starting with his garden and taking 7 out in the space of 40 minutes. I told him how well I had done in just one night on his fields (45 out lamping with a friend and his rim fire). He soon told the other farmers about me, and they then asked ME to go shoot some of their rabbits. I now have in excess of 300 acres of well populated (by which I mean thousands of rabbits) with the ability to shoot and about 1000 acres extra that I can ferret. Also, it doesn't have to be fields. People own small horse paddocks that rabbits can also thrive on, just make sure the owners a) know when you are there, You don't shoot at the horses and have a quiet enough weapon that the shot will not spook them. P.s Age really doesn't have that much of a factor when you get above 16. As long as you act mature, talk sensibly, are polite and show some level of intelligence in how to shoot and kill humanely, then people tend to be trusting enough with their land. Don't be silly once you've got the land though, because, well... The walls (and hedges) have eyes and ears. Keep at it, and eventually, you won't have to ask for land, people will ask you to come to it. Good Luck! Bunny.
events co-ordinator 353
If you are under 18 you can get a free SACS membership you will get a gold membership card that tells the farmer you are insured to ten million quid also can you offer to control feral pigeons round about the farm buildings or rats this is a good way to get your foot in the door.
