checking earths to day ??????

been out to day to have a look at a few earths and on to seperate earth sticks crossed....X.... over them ....the farmer dont no as he was with me and the hunt not due over till the back end ..........dont think its poachers as it well of the beaten track and its is not keeperd ... but two feilds away is ...........

Seen the same thing down near me, two sticks blocking the hole in a x shape! Thought it may have been kids messing about untill I saw it half hours walk away where I doubt kids will be playing???

a x across the hole could of been somthing to slow mr fox down as he bolts if you didnt have enough nets to cover all exits...

if i seen a big x on top of a earth i would keep well away

the badgerwatch do that around here to see if its being used look out for stealth cams they often put those up as well

ive seen that over rabbit wholes aswell?thought it might be to stop the rabbits using the whole as it was under an orchid.

Why would you do that though mate ??? Honestly, I'm just wondering, no malice intended. Would checking the earth with your terrier not be easier, Or am I missing something ?
