19powell90 89
is that new? i know they are about £300 new so that means the scope is around £75 so it depends what scope is on it in terms of the gun the hw95 is great and the new ones are hw95k's which are carbine and with a silencer so is alot better for hunting as for the scope i would go with a hawke scope they are fairly cheap and very good optics and build quality any questions just fire scott Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
get a scope with mil dots or similar with good mounts .look down the scope to see that the scope is clear and not foggy .Also see if the parallax is set to say 35 yards or can be adjusted for shooting close. Its better to have a scope with parallax adjustment than big magnification .To have big magnification and parallax adjustment on a scope costs more. Marksman 934
You havent said how old he is, what experience with air rifles he has? You wouldnt be able to buy the rifle from an internet shop anyway unless you had it shipped to your local RFD(regsitered firearms dealer) and there might be a receiving charge, so you have taken the sensible option that way. If you'd tell us his age and experience then myself and others might be able to help you more Darryl Quote Link to post
Westy 0
Hi As stated above - how old is he, and whats his build ? The 95 is a decent springer, if hes well built then perhaps other springers would be better as the 95 is a lightweight rifle, although still full powered. Has he shot before ? What about a PCP, is there any chance of a second hand PCP setup for example as they are much easier to shoot - no recoil - so he will see better results quicker. Cheers Westy Quote Link to post
