Jean de Florette and Manon Des Sources for me, have to be watched back to back though (and in the original French, not bastardised Eeeengleesh ).

Milwr Jr. 99
Not many entire films will give me a "lump in my throat" but there are certain scenes within films that I believe evoke strong emotional response. Take "The Godfather Part III" for example. There's a scene near the end where Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) is exiting a theatre having seen his son's first theatrical acting job. And on the steps of the theatre a hitman attempts to kill Michael, instead shooting his daughter, fatally. It's an astonishing scene, made all the better with Pietro Mascagni's "Intermezzo" in the backround. Here it is, incase any wanted to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA78zejFZK8&feature=related

The Duncan 802
The Mission. Hate to admit it, but in 'Mrs Doubtfire', the bit where he is pleading for his kids tends to make me well up
