badoosh 1
used to have a collie/greyhound used to hunt up hedgehogs bring 'em back ,then crunch them up in front of you,she also caught a partridge one night... i've personally caught a rabbit one night along time ago whilst getting chased by the police in cheshire... couple of lads on here can vouch aswell... the story goes we were getting chased just near knutsford services, the fields that run by the M6. we'd followed the hedge down to the motorway embankment and climbed the fence, we decided to hide while the copper was scouring the field with his torch, as i sat back into a bramble bush(amazing wax cotton ) i felt my arse shudder a bit,i thought i'd sat on the dogs foot,so i put my hand down and all i could feel was fur.. i turned to the lads i was with(pennymeadow + my brother in law)and said "watch this"and lifted up this live rabbit from between my legs..(no my name is'nt Warren ) Quote Link to post

pilgrim1982 0
My whippet caught a dove. Funny enough this was his first kill My Australian cattle dog who is now 13 y/o caught many goannas and used to rag them real good. He also used to like catching water dragons (which is a kind of lizard that lives near the water) and used to dive in the water after them and stick his head under the water to try and find them. Guest Tonedog
He also used to like catching water dragons (which is a kind of lizard that lives near the water) and used to dive in the water after them and stick his head under the water to try and find them. My dog does the exact same thing. Around here they climb up trees and you don't even notice them untill you hear a splash, when you walk near the tree they're on they seem to bomb dive into the water, and this just sends my dog nuts, he'll swim for ages up creeks and ignore me calling him, which he doesn't do for anything else. And yeah even sticks his head under the water to try and get them. And, my cousin's cattle dog has killed snakes in the way you describe yours killing goanna, just darts in and grabs them and whips them around furiously. If you throw a length of hose out he does the same thing, it's like it's instinctual for aussie cattle dogs or something, maybe comes from their dingo blood. Quote Link to post
pilgrim1982 0
lol yeah he sure loves giving those goannas a good shake. He did the same to a few possums but you can imagine there wasn't much left of the possum, cracked every bone in its body and it was completely furless by the time he was finished with it. Its funny how they love the water dragons, mine would also spend ages in the creek trying to find where it went and was relentless trying to track them down. Quote Link to post
