countrymaid 2
Some old lady that had one of my whippets years ago had to be rescued by her neighbours and the fire brigade when her whippet decided to chase a squirrel up a tree. The whippet some how before it knew it was right up the tree stuck and getting worried. The elderly woman owner decided to try and help her dog out of the tree and also ended up stuck. The owner to this day has never lived down the embarrasment of that day, when her and her dog had to be rescued by the local on call fire brigade Quote Link to post

Guest Tonedog
my old terrier ran in the hedge and flushred a full camoflouged bloke with an air rifle lol, my bandog flushed a teenage couple out of some bushes down near the creek behind my house once. He also cornered an injured indian mynah bird under a hedge and clubbed it to death with his paws. Other than that was a possum which he caught, de-furred and ate while I was asleep, leaving only a neat stomach surrounded by fur in my backyard. A gash on his nose and scattered grass clippings sunder a palm tree told the tail of the battle. I'd seen possums creep around on the grass at night, only to quickly scale the palm tree when the dog noticed, one didn't make it up on this night. Oh and he bailed up this echidna But he was blatantly outclassed on this occassion Quote Link to post

T.F.Student 0
Unluckily for me my oldest dog before she was six months found a hedgehog, and ran off with it, putting it down and yapping at it...I walked away...she followed at a distance...i turned round...she ran off again Got her out of that thank goodness. Then before i trained her not to get hold of birds...she caught a wren Another time way out on the fell she returned to me with a dead badger , it was cold and had no visible signs as to why it had died. I'm just glad no walkers were around as it would of been Blue Eagles time The funniest was when out for a late night stretch, not hunting but with the lamp, i decided it was about time for a shine. As i panned the field slowly from left to right i saw her dancing round and licking the faces of a couple who were at it Quote Link to post

Guest Eamon.Mc
I was out lamping 1 night when my dog dipped and started shaking something, this was while on the lead. There was the strangest squealing I'd ever heard when he finished shaking I inspected what it was and he'd turned a Hedgehog inside out, his muzzel was great shape after it. Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Nothing as exciting as some previous posts, my terrier bitch destroys any hedgehogs that wander into the run. One of my dogs caught a goose, trouble was it was a pet and I had to get him off it pretty quick. Quote Link to post
