Ossie 11
we had trouble when i was a kid, back in the days before t'internet and them there new fangled mobile thingies. dad's best mate was forever shouting his mouth off about how good our dog was. endless stream of pikies through our back garden. 12 bore out of the bedroom window always worked for the little grumpy one. the mate lost loads of his dogs too, they'd sometimes turn up a few weeks later, run half to death. a friend of my dads had a pup off us, turned into a fine hound. he'd tell anyone that'd listen how micky did 3 outta 3. lived in a tiny village, he never shut the dog up, it wandered about the village as it wanted... dog gone. our dogs have always had 2 kinds of bark - one for us walking up the garden, one for strangers. having had a continuation of dogs for 30-odd years, the older ones taught the next generation "the bark". having grown up with it, "the bark" wakes me up. i used to live in a caravan in the garden, number of times i woke up in the night, was about to get me boots on, then heard the little grumpy one hollering out the bedroom window. i've now got my own place, the dogs have to live elsewhere though. i don't like not being able to look outta my back window & see how they are. makes me proper edgy. especially knowing that the most likely person to take my little terrier is the family member i got her from. spiteful little cow would. nowadays the little shites have got no fear. when i first got my boy, got chatting to some old romany boys at a fair, they said for god's sake don't ever let on where you live, that dog'll be gone. they said they despaired of the younger generation, their children's generation had lost control of their kids. don't know what to say that might help you Jigsaw. times have changed, and there's no easy solution, if it'll work it's not legal, if it's legal it won't work. best of luck to you, 8 dogs in the house is not practical, 24/7 guard will drive you nuts, and going to their elders probably won't do a shitsworth either. i can only hope they pick on someone who really doesn't give a shit about the law... maybe they'll then get their comeuppance... all the best, my fingers are crossed that a solution will be found. Ideation 8,216
f*****g hell mate, thats horrible. You think all the same folk doing it? Or different groups. Sounds like this will not stop until you gather the troops and take direct action. Do you not have any contact to the groups of folk over there who like to do their bit to protect their local community. Or failing that a mate with a petrol can and a lighter?
scent 509
15 dogs in less tehn 24 hours lads.I think there is only one way to stop this sadly and that by catching one the people involved and make sure he doesnt see the light of day again. Its only a matter of time before they get caught in the wrong back yard and are met with a double barrell.Jesus my dogs aint world beaters but thy are mine and thats the bottom line
