KittleRox 2,147
Took a wee trip oot today for a couple of hours, drizzly rain most of the time which strangly I enjoy when I,m oot, intended just doing a bit wandering round a place I regularly go to but head in a different direction so just took half dozen nets with me, a no go though due to lack of permo and lots of sheep lol, so went to the usual bit had a look at this place a couple of weeks back but cover was heavey, a wee bit better today though so soldiered on, Seen a bunny jump in the first warren I approached so 6 nets down and a couple of holes free entered number 1 ferret, the best kit from last season but she wasn,t interested, so back in the box and number 2 ferret in, about a minute and the sound of thumping, another minute and bunny hits a net and Roxy grabs, Rabbit number 1 Newly promoted ferret exits, nets are lifted then onto the next, 6 nets down and roughly 5 or 6 holes unnetted, thumping almost immediately again but this time the bunny bolts from an unnetted hole and down another, lots of thumping again for 5 minutes and same again, exits and into another hole both unnetted, the dogs are trying to connect but it ain,t travelling far, then it makes the fatal mistake and makes a dash for the warren I had just come from about 40 ft away, Roxy manages to snap it up though, number 2 in the bag Cass wants to play Ferret exits so onto the next, this warren was the one which reminded me why I love ferreting so much, Roxy was just a pup last season so this is her first proper one, she worked her socks off at this warren and was a joy to watch, the concentration and flying over the fence a few times depending on the sound of thumping The thumping went on for a good 20 minutes then a bunny bolted to the next warren with Cass close behind but it made it to safety, another bunny bolts and backnets itself, number 3 in the bag, moved onto the holes where the escapee had run, a two holer one each side of the fence, stuck the ferret in but drew a blank, think the bunny may have just ran straight through to somewhere else So called it a day and back to the motor, thoroughly enjoyed myself and so did Rox, I think Cass was a wee bit peeved though with the rain and nettles I want tae go hame I want tae stay here Randoms 1 Quote Link to post
