bodger 44
Anyone been using Airedale x Irish Terrier Greyhound cross ? I saw some years ago which were a first cross Irish over an Airedale bitch , a dog from this litter then covered a greyhound bitch. The litter was a bit mixed but very useful. Just wondering if this type of cross was still out there, and if they are performing. Any Pics would be a bonus. Cheers 1 Quote Link to post

chartpolski 26,085
Check skycats posts re Airedale crosses. They were an accidental mating, mate. Ask her if she would have done this mating intentionaly. I wish her the best of luck with them, but I'd bet she would be the first to admit they wouldn't be her preffered mating. Cheers. I know they were an accident mate, but in a thread a few weeks back she said she would've liked to introduce this blood into her line years ago, saying they added nose, feet and brain. I don't know if it would be a preffered mating but she seems really pleased with them. Quote Link to post
chartpolski 26,085
I'll let Penny answer this. She'll do it truthfully. They may turn out great dogs....but at the end of the day it was an ACCIDENTAL mating...not planned. I'm a big fan of terriers in Lurcher breedind, and own a Beddy X myself...but for you to refer us to a post by Skycat on Airdale X's is wrong. Cheers. Quote Link to post

bodger 44
Thanks for the feedback so far. It was the addition of the Irish Terrier blood in to the mix that made this cross more usefull /alrounder, the Airedale is dead Game with a good coat , the Irish terrier Blood made a lighter and faster build, which is why I was interested to see how this type of cross worked out. I guess if no one is using this cross, the answer must be that they did not turn out to be that great ? Quote Link to post
