the big chief 3,099
how old is the dog mate, sounds like you may have started her to young,i would start again, but only on squatters(sitters),question,do you work her with terriers,as they open up when on a chase,i think once she knows she can catch it will stop, but it will take time,i had a dog that did it on the lamp,i stoped her by taking her ferreting, once she caught a few bolters it all clicked into place, good luck Exactly right answer, take the dog ferreting and let it grab bunnys in the nets, the dog then thinks it has caught the rabbit and builds confidence no end, then easy squaters on the lamp and GO BY YOURSELF, just you and the one dog Have a collie x here myself which used to yap now and again when I entered her, its not the end of the dog, just adjust yer methods 20p cartridges and electric collars ffs if you have red my post right mate i said it wouldnt work on collie x they are too brainy its working on mine collie x saluki bull beddy deerhound whippet fexckin chewawee, if yer having to use a shock collar to stop yapping the dogs fecked anyway, maybe 20p cartridge comes to mind that what they wher desighnd for mate to combat problems with yor dog and thats what ime doing if you dont like them thats yor opinion butt they work so ther for i will use one if every thing else fails Quote Link to post

Chid 6,495
its just wrong is all ime saying if he ends up not wonting the dog threw yapping wouldnt it be alot better to give the dog to a good loving home rarther than a shoot it no... then some eejet will either pass it round like hell and others will pay good money for shite or some one will breed from it and pay good money for shite 20p solves the problem maybe it does butt its still wrong in my book. i wouldnt ever do that maybe thats why your feeding a 3 legged dog and im not then Not everyone is as hardcore as you mate. no one will be as hardcore as me as im the hardest hardcore lamper there is prove it your a retard if you didnt realise that ,that last post was my try at sarcasm... and rake aboot if the deed needs doing i will do it simple.. coney clucky 93
once yapping started to late to try and stop it best of starting again with new dog and find pet home for last one bit drastic to shoot but if you just going to pass on to dealer then might be for the best id try and get a good pet home first with no chance of it getting in the market Quote Link to post

whin 463
dogs that yap are ualy ill bred and not pacy enough for the job in hand ,or sometimes old dogs who have lost there pace,if you bred to much collie whippet terrier the yapping goes up as they lack a gear on fast qaurry its a chance you take , to stop it means you cant put the dog under pressure and give it easy cacthes till it matures but not a good way to start a partner ship, persevere see how they come on give it till 18 months then tallyho ,new pup of good pacy breeding Quote Link to post

richie c 11
if you dont buy a ready made dog, you never realy kno wat your bringing into your kennel and if its your first dog mistakes are made. if you have made a bond and like the dog and think a bullet to the head is a bit stupid which it is, i would leave the lamp alone and concentrate on day work bolting rabbits for her as many as you can some in the net some runners depending on the ground let her mature and learn how to hunt proper, marking holes hunting up retreiveing ect.there will be something she is good at, find her strenghths and leave the weaknesses for a later date. enjoy the merits of owning a dog, alot of dogs have been given away for given tongue on the lamp when young and become good ferreters, then go on to make the grade on the lamp later on. 3 Quote Link to post
