IMO thats too much for such a young pup. an old dogman, now dead would walk his pups 1 mile a day once they reach 6 months, then gradually build it up. he only kept deerhounds though... what breed is the pup? smaller breeds mature faster, but even so that still sounds too much. Squirrel_Basher 17,100 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Share Posted March 25, 2007 Its not the amount of excercise you need to worry about as the pup will slow as she tires .Its the type that blows young lurchers out early.Trying to keep up with an adult running dog ,even in play is not good for the pup nor is chasing most forms of quarry that the pup is not ready for .Play it by ear mate -You know better than anyone how she is after excercise and adjust it accordingly .
