artic 595
Fair play to the chap. At the time himself and others saw a buisness plan and took it, well done! Never afraid to speak his mind. As for the question asked, Has anyone eaten Ostrich? Yes I have, and have 2 hanging ready to be cut into steaks and burgers.

Dont listen to these game farmers that tell you its hard work, since the introduction of better heaters and feeders its a walk in the park. Oh and having a handful of polish workers grafting in the field all day is a bonus.............
irishnut 297
I also like Hugh and his views and what he tries to achieve. Realistically if the pups where farmed correctly and humanely dispatched then there really should be no problem with it. As we are a nation of dog lovers it just wouldn't happen over here. Probably a question he was asked by a twat journalist in the hope of provoking an outrage......idiots!!!! i think this is 100% my views. i'd also go so far as to say that if i was in a country that eat dogs, i'd have a munch. sweet and sour jack russell, or akita in black bean sauce. forest of dean redneck 11,711
but i have noticed how far upperclass its got He is an upper middle-class fop mate,I remember everyone saying how brave he was trying to survive in River cottage, trying to survive????F*cking hell how much was the production budget? They were never going to let him starve,he sometimes has a few peasants around his gaff to leaven out the social mix but he is most certainly not slumming it,he does river-cottage "classes" now where the middle-classes can go and learn how to live-off the land and do working class things. when that came out i worked with a lass whos fella worked nearby and he was only there for filming, someone else tended the stock etc.

forest of dean redneck 11,711
he gave the public some good ideas and if people have gone out and done it because of him thats brilliant, as the natural harvest does go to waste and knowledge gets lost but i think hes getting too big headed like that fuckwit jamie oliver. i know alot of people left his river cottage forum when it changed and was hard to use. mackem 27,429
he has a shop/cafe in his village, and wow the prices He is a businessman plain and simple, not some downsizing principled peoples-hero,his journalism background gave him some insight into how the media works, his self publicising ideas like the placenta-eating and the River-cottage back to nature ideology keep him in the public eye, thats it,plain and simple. mackem 27,429
They are chefs mate, nowt else,f8ck sakes I can fry a pan of chips with the best of them, but they believe their own legend,I remember Gordy going to f*cking Costa f*cking Rica to confront and track down the shark-finners,didnt save a single hammerhead nor white-tip,you honestly think the chinese will stop their shark-fin soup trade because of Gordon f*cking Ramsay? They hype themselves up,I remember Ramsay said he was doused in petrol, held at gunpoint etc while investigating the trade, what a load of toffee,he would still be in therapy had that happened.
