MissRhianL 70
These passed few times that i have been out lamping with a dog that i got given seems to be turning me away from hunting dogs all together. 3x good things about him - 1. He gets on great an runs well wit my other dog. 2. Hes quite quick 3. He does all quarry an does his job quietly. Hes just turned 4yrs old hes a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bull. He can be quite stubborn at times wit callin him back, i cant really trust him walkin him off a lead really incase there is sheep up the mountain or other dogs about as hes very choosy wit who he wont go for. The only thing thats startin to piss me off is we go lamping sometimes he will come straight back after the lamp is turned off, other times hes a nightmare! He f..ks off wandering an will smash thru any hedge or barbed wire. Last night he went for a wander got him back to the gate an then wandered off into the next field did not pay any attention to me callin him at all. I know he is 4yrs old an prob been passed from kennel to kennel every one has their own hunting requirements of a dog an i think thats why so many go around as they are not suited to the new owner but i honestly dont know what to do wit him. Some days hes great and then other days i do think why the hell am i puttin up wit all this? Anybody had any dogs like this one? Quote Link to post

ruby jet 184
ive got an 18 month old bitch thats a bit hit and miss, take her out with my other bitch and shes 50/50 at best, take her on ground shes not run before and shes alot better . but if i take her out with a frend and there dog on the lamp shes 100% as is she if shes worked alone just the way some dogs are think alot of my problem came from the fact that it was hard to enter her last season with the weather we had but shes worth her weight in gold to me so its something ill put up with atb rj Quote Link to post

MissRhianL 70
I dont think hes done as much lamping as the boy said he has. Iv taken his diggin an hes fine. Iv noticed if im out wit a gun or sling he will walk by ur side without a lead an if u take a shot at somethin he will run in the direction u shot at has a quick look if no quarry is at the end he comes straight back waitin for the next shot, so i know he can do it he just plays up now an again thinkin that he can find things if he has a wander an smashes thru hedges. Its really frustrating sometimes all i ask of a dog is to listen when called back an he tends to do it on his own accord? Some days i can put up wit it but other times i just cant do it Lol Quote Link to post

graham4877 1,181
Try getting a pup in and bringing it on yourself, then you would not have all this shit, but do as has being said above, the collar will work if done right! Quote Link to post
