25/09/2011. Lamping

Recommended Posts

Had a long awaited night out in Shropshire with Trigger2. Due to work commitments it's not been easy to get down there but managed to get a night where me and Vin were both free. The moon was down but there was no wind or rain and it was quite a warm night/morning, I think it was 15 degrees when we looked on the cars thermo? Vin went off lamping elsewhere and me and Jon set out with my bitch and his old dog. Got into the first field and we saw a squatter so I slipped Lola on it but she ran straight over the top of it  She turned back round and after a little run caught it on the edge of the field. Embarrasment saved!! Walked quite a few fields and we got 21 rabbits in total with Lola accounting for 9. Some good runs and some easy catches. Had a bit of a fright with a herd of cows and then headed back. We stayed out till around 5am and it was just starting to drizzle by then!

All in all a top night out and looking forward to my return trip

While Dean was having fun with trigger.. I was out with Flint and his old beddyX "blue" and my dog "Molly". we had an easy night with not many rabbits where we were..but it was a great night watching his 8years old little 19" beddy X showing my dog hows its done. He was like a little pocket rocket picking them up out of the seats.running them all through the hedges and picking them up like a terrier on rats.. There wasnt many rabbits where we were but we didnt miss many of what we did run.I think we had 9 at the end of the night.
