andyz 30
They're a good idea especially for longer distances etc. I've always found with airgunning that the expected range and shoot type didn't outweigh the hassle of carting the sticks around. Another option is to just practice, practice and practice a bit more the standing shoot. There are a lot of aspect that go into standing shots (or any shots) that once put together make the accuracy a lot more consistent. Also you have all the fun a bit of plinking offers. born ferreter 1
iv been shooting at targets since christmas when i got my gun, iv shot a few bunnies and a pigeon but i was dont at the farm where we keep our horses and the farmer is having problem problems with feral pigeons and mucky doves so i said il have a look down one morning on a day i wasnt at college so i got my step mam to drop the bsa supersport down at the farm on the morning before she went to work and i rode down on the scooter i parked up collected the gun and sighted it in because i would be used some new flat headed pellets with a few shots and surprisingly no adjustment to the scope i was a few mil to the left i was happy enough with accuracy from a springer i went off i manged to shot 5 but could only retreive 3 as the oother two were stuck on top off an old abandoned house which was safe to enter but with all off the shot i had something to lean on sowith the style of shooting im doing atm would them be a pointless tool to carry or would you recommend them anyay? lewis Quote Link to post

jocky 198
i always use a shooting stick, i got mine off bay, there ideal when walking round for standing shots, or if im sitting waiting for rabbits to come out i just lower it. would not go out with out one. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
I use them all the time with the .243, extends your effective range on open ground. For the big calibres, the higher shooting position as compared to prone means a safer backstop, plus at 100 yards plus an offhand shot is difficult. For air rifle shooting, I would say they're not AS essential, as the ranges tend to be much shorter, but if you try them and get on with them they can certainly help your shooting. Quote Link to post
zx10mike 137
my advice buy a pair with telescopic legs then you can sit kneel stand and are collapsible for transport ideal when you cant see over the horizon when low to the ground on a bipod.worth the money.i can head shoot rabbits at 100 yds with a hmr,try that without them.(on targets).
