grovsey 74
there is lots of factors including .weather ,how hard u fly the bird ,how health the bird is in ect ect .normal food giving the hawks in flying/hunting condition is d.o.c's and rabbits ,some use supplients.and i dont mind giving a bit of partrage, quail ect if the bird is having a day of.in the moult ur giving mainly lots of high quality foods like the latter i mentioned. a long wing u can give them and better of giving them high quality foods as these are like a farrari compared to a harris that is more like a mini ,you can crop up a faclon and if you watch it you can almost see it going down as they can take on the food alot quicker and also there need it as they work so hard thus using up there fuel tank.there is no point falconing a falcon on 3/4 fuel tank as you will see the result in it performance if you had a f1 car you would not go to the local morrisons car park for fuel would you ? 1 Quote Link to post

paulus 26
I know their diet depends on a number of factors including like the weight of the bird. The weather. How much flying has been done lately. The condition of the bird. The temperament of the bird. feel its brestbone then you will know in conjunction with its weight how much to feed it, then again the amount will depend on whot your feeding, how much exercise the birds getting etc. Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
Read a Hawk For The Bush by Jack Mavrogordato.. and read it well and keep reading it till it sink's in..the book i have here fell into my hand's when i was in junior school and only young..which will of been in the 80's ..back then i only liked picture's but as the year's progressed i started reading it more and more..i now have info in my head that wont go away and it is for the better hawk wise.. i did read other book's but not many matched the old one and any info that has sunk in is only furniture picture's.
