Rabbiting Gun

Recommended Posts

I am currently looking to update my rabbiting gun.

At the moment i shoot mostly with the shotgun and a few with a little .22 air rifle. i was thinking of a .22 T bolt 16 inch barrel. Is this the way to go or is there anything different on the market.

Cheers for help

Ollie

:hmm: Foxdropper, I think you misread or I didn't make it clear enough, the .22lr sub has the power to stop a fox at 100 yards easily but few can do it, that was the point I was making, and also mak

Loving my CZ511 semi auto. With RWS subs it cycles flawlessly and has more than acceptable accuracy.

My only slight criticism is that the trigger could be a bit lighter - post coming up!

The fast repeat shots are an excellent plus point

I've been using an 'A' bolt for over 20 yrs and it is a great gun, never let me down and hasn't had the barrel cleaned since I bought it......

So...an A bolt, a Simmons 3.5-10x50 WTC, is that a Sako Mod and a Deben Max, and just 4 bunnies, well everything else seems ok so perhaps cleaning the rifle will improve the bag!!

cheers for help lads.

what distance would they take a fox as i wouldn think they would have the power.

what would be reasonable price for cz.

A sub sonic .22lr has the power to stop a fox at 100 + yards no problem.

The simple fact is to keep this humane you need to know the rifle/ammo/ballistics very well and be able to deliver the shot precisely to do that.

100 is not normally a distance to consider for fox, if you need that range, or further, then you need to consider a different tool.

no it would be more so just for rabbits. as anything bigger would do to much damage to a rabbit.

What kind off money would second hand or new cz be ??

Thanks mate.

Not looking win no beauty contest just wan good fireing rifle as the area is heavy enough ditches and a new gun would age pretty quickly which i found out the hard way with the browning shot gun i bought paid big money for very clean second hand gun and in the space of a few years it look a different gun.

Is there anyway to clean scratchs off he barrels and stock of gun ??

cheers Ollie
