midnight 657
hello everyone . this is made from a farriers file , forged on charcoal by myself . finnished by hand with files and sand paper . only a drill and angle grinder was used to rough shape and make pin holes . over all sheath length 18" over all knife length 12 1/2" handle 5" this has leather liners to absorb vibration from chopping . it has scales of black and blue paper micarta and ally 6mm pins and lanyard tube . blade is 7 1/2" long 4.5mm thick and 3.3 cm wide the ballance is at the point of the finger cut out (very happy about that ) has a sort of scadi grind . blade finnish is 120 grit and the grind is 800grit then polished . i did this because its a user and being carbon steel will discolour with use but wanted the edge to slice clean . it has atleast 2 ways to be held one for chopping another for more controlled cutting . the tang is tappered also . the sheath is english calf dark brown with embos work and articulated loop. iv called it the "hellmando" inspired by the royal marines in hellman province . ( i think we should look more fersome to the enimy !) but under all that its what id want to make camp and possibly dress carcasses etc . hope you like it price posted is £120 ps i have massive fat hands its pretty big , the biggest knife iv made to date .
