DEKAW 85
This happens on my dog but not as severe as yours. On my dog his skin seems to dry out in this area causing the hair to thin out. The way i have cured the problem is to rub in Moisturising lotion(ASDA Smart price 61p a bottle) every day. May sound a bit puffy but it works. Also there was a thread on here a few weeks ago regarding hair loss.

Guest wex
Alright mate, i had a similar problem a while back. The problem was caused by too much protien in the diet. Its just a thought, but if you feed a high protien meal as well as meat each day the dog may be getting an overload of protien. The bald patches dont look sore so i dont think it is anything like mange. Just a thought mate.
Guest Dale
i was thinking about his diet , he gets dr jhons silver working dog food , and also get fed pasta , 18% protein in the DR JHONS . cheers Dale
Guest wex
With that amount of protien i dont think you are giving him too much. When i had the problem i was feeding a 28% meal as well as chicken mince and veg etc. The vet advised me to give a lower protien meal if i was feeding meat as well. Or just stick with the high protien meal on its own, at this time of year my dogs get a more basic menu. They are on a maintainence meal and meat every other day, then i will step up the protien again come the start of the season.Cheers wex.
