The one 8,479
Aye its bad when somebody steals ferrets but this sounds more than that large numbers being stolen in the same place ?. Double padlocks on the huts and a security light wont stop them being stolen but it might make them think about it and slow them down Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
this is the same as the topic i put up entitled BEWARE ... 14 ferrets were stolen in one go from durrington 10 were nicked from an 82 year old fella that loves his ferreting and 4 were stolen from a lady down the road from him that were kept as her pets ... they tried to gain access to another garden in the area but the barking dogs put them off ............. skycat 6,173
I would think that they are being stolen for sale into the fur trade: fur can be dyed any colour. I'm sure that there was something about this a few years ago: cats and ferrets and pet rabbits being stolen in large numbers. 1 Quote Link to post

pernod 466
or maybe dumb ass anti hunt groups that dont like people hunting the rabbit are stealing them an letting them go you never know with anti groups!!! like many have said why steel ferrets when most of the time you can pick them up cheap or for free I have often thought the same as you mate, that antis could be behind thefts. Take for example the number of terriers that get stolen annually and are never seen again. Surely if it was hunters that stole them, the odd one would be sighted again. But on the other hand they were kept by non workers in pet homes then the dogs would never be seen again. Pernod Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
Few weeks back my garage was Broken into and somebody had tried to take the ferrets. My hutch is padlocked but they had ripped it half way open. Think one Of the ferret bit them and they f****d off as there was a bit of blood on the hutch and Door handle. Found out a week later that my mate works with a lad who had a cut on his hand, he asked what had happened and he said he had tried taking some ferrets off a woman who had them in the garage( not knowing I was there). Bragging c**t. Don't wanna say too much but he got more than a Fcuking cut when I got hold of him. Can't believe people take other people's animals because they can't be arsed training them themselves! Quote Link to post
B.A. 2
Round the Basingstoke area in Hampshire I've got a freind who has an attempted ferret theft done on him they didn't actually manage to take any but just be careful round that area as well Quote Link to post

DKGPestControl 22
I once had 14 ferrets in a large shed / avery. I went out to feed them all one morning and there was only 10! 4 missing. no holes etc found. Then about a week later only 8 left and then about a month later only 6 left. I set a trip wire across the bottom of the door with a 12g blank on it. I was watchin tv one evening when the blank went off and the bloke ran like hell lol I think he though i shot at him lmao Never had a ferret go missing since 1 Quote Link to post
