Millet 4,497
The house martin population left this area in the north east over a week ago..but when i went out in the garden this morning they have all came back.. ..this weather is playing serious games with the bird's mind's..i have even been watching rook's building nest from the start of last week..i just hope the martin's don't start rebuilding as the weather is meant to turn bad over the next couple of week's and i would hate to see any perish.. RaiderBoy 19
Havent seen any martins around here for about 2-3 weeks but there's one or two flying around the street now, my only thought is there from further north and are just riding out the last of the good weather. Totaly un-related to wildlife but the ferrets are suffering too, their coats were starting to thicken which leaves them close to over heating in the day time. This week is the first time ive actually seen them go over their chests in a tray of water i put in there. Poor buggers must really be suffereing. Richard

The weather here hit 28-29 Degrees in some areas at the begining of October . the missus runner beans started to flower again and some of the birds in the aviaries also started to display. Gos knows whats happend to the seasons, we get late summers running in Autumn these days messing up natures internal clock......... they're also predicting snow end of October.........
