Millet 4,497
I have had this rifle for over 5yr's now with no problem what so ever with it..but over the past week i am having real trouble zeroing it..i have had this problem before with spring rifle's and it was either the scope or moderator that was causing the problem.. This is not the case with this rifle..i have changed the scope and even took the moderator of and it is still shooting erratically..one minute i can put pellet after pellet then all of a sudden it is shooting 1/2in out and grouping in than area for 5 or so shot's.. The gun's sweet spot is 170 to 150 bar and it is doing the same there aswell as from a 190bar fill..my head is fooked with it..i have even tried different tin's of pellet's and it is doing the same. Any helpful advise will be much appreciated as i really need this rifle at the moment.. Cheer's Millet, Quote Link to post
Phil8282 8
Have you cleaned the barrel? If you have that could be the issue, if you havent I suggest doing it. Have you put it over the Chrono? Power fluctuation can be caused by worn seals or a worn valve assembly causing inconsistant strike times etc. Is the gun secured in the stock? Poor cheek weld can cause you to look through the scope at different angles, causing you to be a few CM out if you're shooing over long ranges. Hope this helps Phil Quote Link to post

mikeyblue 28
Its pretty much process of elimination. If the groups from my R10 start to open up 99/100, the barrel needs cleaning. So my advice would be even if you dont think it needs doing, do it anyway and you at least know for sure it isnt that! Next would be check scope mounts, unlikely to work loose on a pcp, but an easy check to eliminate that factor. Also another easy elimination as Phil mentioned is the stock bolt. If none of the above have tightened the groups, run it over a chrono. If it is inconsistant it could be a bit of crud in one of the seals, or the hammer and rail might need de-crudding and a polish! Dont be afraid to do your own servicing. There are plenty of online tutorials and the S4*0's are easy to work on.. I really enjoy tinkering and it saves a hell of a lot of time and money posting off to a gunsmith. Kind Regards, Mikey. Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi buddy have you checked the barrel band! its not loose? or out of alignment ? this can cause these problems! Davy Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Cheer's for that Mikey i might just have a play with it and see if any of the internal's need a clean with the dremel.. Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
hi buddy have you checked the barrel band! its not loose? or out of alignment ? this can cause these problems! Davy Davy..i have checked the barrel..it was not loose but i undone the two grub screw's anyway to see if it sprang back into place but it did not move..i then used a level/set square and rule to measure it and it was bang on inline..so all i can really put it down to from the information i have received...is something internal is failing or need's a clean.. Millet 4,497
I have cleaned the barrel and all seemed to be going smooth until i tried my tight 10 shot magazine in the rifle..i have 3 x 10 shot mag's two of them load the pellet's in smoothly but one of them has to have the pellet's pushed in with minimum of force..i don't know if it is coincidence or the skirt of the pellet's are getting slightly misshaped in that mag..i will fire a load more shot's later on today at 30yrd's inside of a barn out of and wind and get back to you lot. Sweeney-Todd 208
Check your pellet probe seal for wear if in doubt change it Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
If you want a full set of seals , give me a PM , transfer port seals on these can be a pain . Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Thank's for that Buster..i think i have nailed the problem by doing the easiest of thing's and that was giving the barrel a good old clean..upto now and i touch wood as im saying this..the gun is now grouping ok within a 5p size grouping at 30yrd's..i am also only going to fill the rifle to 170bar and not let it go under 150bar if i can help it as that is where it is most accurate..
