out of all 3 , i would say 1/4 would be enough for either x. Prob go for the 1/4 bull 3/4 grey . Ive had and got colliexs and dont get on with there temps,Bryn is hard work regards his temp, if he wasn't so good at rabbit game he would have( gone) 2 years ago. :yes: had and got bullxs but (do) get on with there temps :thumbs: ,saluki xs are great hunting dogs, but i could not get on with them. I nearly put a post on regards (temp or work) and maybe from this post the colliex is prob the best alrounder, but not to live with . And i think that is( more) important , as you not hunting 24/7 thats why i go for bullx.

last year you was on about collie x sazukis ray i think you have a few fads with xs dont think you no what you would have unless someone else had summat you got hooked on

bond with a pup. plenty of early socialization take it everywere with you. decide what you want the pup to do [training wise]take one step at a time.patience perseverence,end a training session on a good note.take into account the temperament of the pup. they are not all the same some are sensitive,some strong willed etc.adjust your training technique to the pups temperament. just because it has saluki in it doesnt mean it cant be trained. ive had collie crosses that have been difficult at times.let it be a pup. only enter it to quarry when you are happy with its training and you feel it is mentally and physically ready.some pups mature quicker than others.

One of the best posts ive seen on this forum, youve either got it or you havent, its in the blood with me

good threads
:thumbs:
, ive always thought a good coursing dog x to a colliexgrey would make a good day time+night time dog, as you still getting the collie in there to make it biddable.!

not really mate, yes ive always had colliexs or bullxs, and i think drop of saluki in either of the xs could be a good thing.. But as i said to you at that show month ago, i (dont) get on with colliexs temps, they might be good dogs in the field, but you got live with the feckers, which i find hard to do, and i get on better with a bullx temp, If i ever get another lurcher, it would be a (small) amount of collie in it, or go for somthing differnt to what ive had before, and prob due for a change anyway.! nothing set in stone mate .?

he still is a good dog, but as i said you not hunting 24/7 , and why keep having xs that you know (dont) suite your on temp dont matter if they catch big bags or not . its a sport mate not a job, and you got to be 100% happy with it not 85% . So like i say next dog will be somthing i aint had before you never know whats round the corner .?

to say collie crosses were the ones that came first,,,,, who says??? and how far back are we going???

the warrener did an article in the countrymans a year or so ago,, with old articles from the norfolk warreners, and also adds from exchange and mart from 100+ years ago,,, terrier crosses were popular back then.

perhaps the original lurcher was more a bitsa type,, who knows??

My thoughts exactly..! :yes::thumbs:
