baw 4,360
Which of these 3 has done the most for the lurcher world. For me it has to be the collie. If entered properly will do all disciplines admirably. If it wasn't for the collie would the lurcher be where it is today? The saluki is nothing more than a fashion and like all fashions, will disappear once a new over hyped replacement is found. Yes you'll get the odd one that could share a kennel with a collie cross but on the whole, one trick ponies. Bull crosses are more handier than your salukis but still not in the same league as the collie cross. I've had a bull cross which was an all rounder but I know I'll never find another like him and couldn't be arsed trying which tells it's own story. Quote Link to post

baw 4,360
For me your Saluki based Lurchers bring more to the table than any other Cross.Thats just my opinion and Preferance. Hi max long time no see. I respect your opinion and like mine is probably biased. But do you seriously think that for lurchers as a whole the saluki has done more for the sport? Personally I think the saluki is only good for 1 thing and 1 place at that. Quote Link to post

maitland93 13
Tbh a think if all these crosses are ented right they all can sucseed in being all rounders but as far as the collie cross goes they are the superia lurcher cross. There is more collie cross lurchers around also. For the saluki there is no other cross that can run hares like them there stamina is on a diffrent level. Then there is bull xs which people prefer on bigger game because they can handle the stick, the only fault with a bull x is tha if they have had enoughf they will not run 1 Quote Link to post
baw 4,360
2 dogs have sculptured the lurcher and kept it from dying out, the greyhound and the collie. Deerhounds, bedlingtons, saluki, bull, etc will all come and go depending on the fad at the time 1 Quote Link to post
