unlacedgecko 1,466
Lurcher could of grabbed it mate and when fox swung around and bit it the lurcher jibbed and fox ran free for another day yeah agree but shame it got shot Not really. Killing foxes with lurchers is illegal in mainland UK. The field it was in borders a sheep farm and there are several people in the area with free range chickens. What would you rather I had done with it? Quote Link to post
unlacedgecko 1,466
Thanks for all the sensible replies. I don't think it was a snare wound as the injury was only to the top of the neck. I'm leaning towards a fight with other foxes to be honest. I'm surprised that it survived without any secondary infection as it looked quite a serious injury, especially to suffer in the heat of the fly ridden summer in a location which couldn't be licked.
