First Attempt at Scope cam with the Rapid

Recommended Posts

Thought i'd give this Scope Cam shooting a go, Pepsi bottle caps set out @ 20 yards, Easier than i thought did not use Bipod just a Cushion

and loaded Rapid singly not with the Magazine, Quite happy with the results for a first attempt.

Well done though Daz mate! I've had a lot of chat with Si Pittaway about scopecams and I know from him, it's not so straightforward, sighting through the camera screen and shooting accurately with it.

Tryt to find a way to straighten up the reticle in the view now. It looks a bit hard to watch a canting reticle because I want to "spirit level" the scope in the mounts! Gary here (Festa) started out just the same way but, now, he makes amazingly good vids through his scope!

But, for a first go? Brilliant! Keep going with it mate and show us what you can do  .

Didn't realized the Rifle was slightly Canted Simon :wallbash: as it was not on a Bipod just rested on a Cushion shooting from an Elevated position i.e. Bedroom window, Holding on to back of stock and trying to aim with the LCD,

Would probably have been easier to shoot it from a Bipod then i would have noticed the Canting :good:

Early days yet Don't think Si, Davy,Gary and Elmer Fud have much Competition yet a complete Novice at this Scope cam but learning fast.

hi Daz

looking good buddy

if the camera has a stablelisation mode switch it to off "sorry for spelling"

make sure your cross hairs are central, and not canted! not sure how you have it mounted, but mine is on the scope,i just turn the fast focus till it sorts out the cant, while checking on the LCD screen.for best affect set your scope mag to its lowest setting!!

good to see your taking targets! it wont be long till you get the hang of it

well done keep em coming

Cheers Davy,

Stabilization was off but didn't use My Bipod was to engrossed watching the LCD Screen to see i had the rifle slightly canted on the cushion :wallbash:,

Trying to shoot on 12x as thats all i use so will experiment on a lower Mag setting, Using a Seben Camera mount like Si's, So i can just swing it out

of the way if i need to shoot through the scope.

Very nicely done Daz :clapper:

Once you get used to it, you'll have it in the field dropping em nicely on video :D

Very clear footage for a 1st attempt, very impressed

What scope were you using bud?

Tony

Falcon Menace FFP 4 ~ 14 x 44 Tony,

Not many Scopes have the First Focal plane Bud as POI doesn't change up and down the Mag Range all Aim points stay the same.

p.s Glad your Back Tony Bud,

regards Daz
