barrywhite 282
super domes would be a good place to start .A good all round pellet and not to pricey .Air arms field,JSB exact,fx,all the same pellets in a different tin although a little heavy can be good and leave the gun with a lot of power I find.Only good in 22 from a spring gun the soft lead cannot take the shock from the spring piston in 177 I feel .I could be wrong. Wasp are rubbish and you have two tins to choose from bad or realy bad.Old wasp pellets are supposed to be good .Defiant pellets in 177 I have had good results in my spring guns.(but not in a webley mark 3 )All of my spring guns in 177 shoot super domes well . pianoman 3,587
The old, original ELEY WASP was a brilliant pellet; I reckon they would have performed wonders with a GAMO rifle. Now they are made by some Johnny Foreigner and are utter shite. AVOID! As with the other lads' good choices here, I'd give RWS SUPERDOMES, H&N FIELD TARGET TROPHY or JSB EXACT a good go. All the best with your search. Simon Quote Link to post

Superdomes would be a good starting point, but I don't know about the JSBs etc. being no good for a .177 springer. My mate has a Diana 52 on ticket that spits them out at over 1200fps with no problems at all. An extremly accurate pellet from that gun Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Air arms field,JSB exact,fx,all the same pellets in a different tin We've been through this particular statement before, they are most deffinately NOT the same pellets! Although they are manufactured by the same company (as indeed a hell of a lot of pellets are these days) I used to use AAF's as they gave me superb results, then I went into my local RFD, who had none left, but told me the FX were the same and a quid cheaper. I looked at the weight that was the same and at first glance they appeared to be the same shape. There was a very noticable POI change when I began using them so I set them up side by side and photographed them I found that there are very obvious differences. The FX are slightly taller than AAF's with a more bulbous head, the AAF's have a slightly flatter dome. However: BOTH pellets are good value, both produce one hole groups (sub English 5 pence piece size in .22) at 35 yards in my Air Arms S200 Just lately I have been trying out a tin of washed and lubed RWS Superfields and they are also producing very good tight groups despite the high winds when I was using them. Woodies and Rabbits also seem to approve of them as when they kiss the animal good nigh the animal simply goes to sleep Tony Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Try Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums, despite the magnum tag, they are 14.3 grain, so not over heavy. They hit like a house brick and are exceptional quality. There have been moans from people that the JSB pellets (Daystate, Air Arms, JSB etc) have had a few quality issues, I went onto Crosmans after I had three separate tins of Air Arms pellets with exceptionally numbers of malformed pellets in them, over 100 in one tin. I am not after lobbing £8 on a tin of pellets to find 25% of them are useful only for smelting down in my sea lure making... So far I have not found one unusable Crosman, perhaps it is the fact they are made in America where if you pee off the local Texan he may come round and ventilate you, perhaps it keeps them more on their toes, but I am not going back to a pellet made by JSB!
