was talking to a middle aged irish chap whos keeps lurchers.

one question he asked me was (where did all the wheaten crosses come from over this side of the water)

he went on to explain that it was very difficult to find a genuine working wheaten

over in irland to cross with a greyhound. so got me thinking are lurcher folk calling any rough rusty fawn coated lurhers wheaten crosses?

Think they put a Wheaten over a Greyhound LOL that's a good question now i.ve not seen a Wheaten/Greyhound working i.ve only seen one Wheaten terrier & that was a pet

Well one day mr Wheaton terrier decided that he was gonna smash mrs greyhounds back doors in and hey presto out came some wheaton x greyhounds I think the original idea was to put them in epupz as a strange cross. By the way I'm taking the piss before anyone starts lol

I know lads on here with pure working wheatens, i have a wheaten lurcher, but i agree, im sure not all crosses advertised as wheatens are 100% honest.............

remember reading edrd back in 94/95 about springviews working wheatons. mark h glen had a litter for sale from the horace dog to a greyhound. did anyone have any wheaton/greys out of this dog?

Could say there not many working wheatens now days but have seen a few that where good at there job but you could say the same about the bullx was the bull that was used in the breeding a working one????

I know a couple lads with working wheatens, also know a couple of them take them to trials, these lads are like the mafia lol you have to be introduced to even get to hear about such dogs. If use are doubting they are out there then as far as the genuine lads who have them are concerned that's the way it should be, an the way it should stay in years to come.

a working wheaten bitch but never consider covering her with a greyhound would rather cover a greyhound bitch with a wheaten dog but this bitch has 8 pups on the ground at the moment for a "WORKING APBT" because could not find a wheaten dog that wasn't too closeily bred to her that was worth using

my pal has a working wheaton which is obviously only used as a drawing dog over his size he is about 21tts and is bread from proper whetons not your small shity looking show type that u see these days.belive me there are still proper wheatons out there.

My mate that owns her tried 5 different wheaten dogs before deciding what to cover her with ,they all worked but not to his standards
