Hand held torches

Evening all, Does anyone use a small handhelp type torch when running their dog?

Similar to this one

or the one that Tesco does..

the air rifle guys on here seem to rave about them as they are cheap and have got a decent enough beam for air rifles but has anyone tried to use them with the dogs? are they up to it?

I am not talking about using one to replace a normal lamping light just after something thats smaller and more subtle when walking through the village to take out when walking the mutts on a night and thats maybe good for a couple of sly runs.

any thoughts/suggestions, does anyone use something similar?

cheers for looking

air riffle guys don't need as good a beam as us guys, we need something concentrated, just watch the flood on them I think that will be the biggest problem with them and range could be an issue

Yeh thats what i am thinking and even the purpose built lamping air rifle lamp kits are marginal for the longer range dog stuff. is there anything that you know to fit in a pocket with a tight enough beam even if the beam doesnt go that far

being honest I'm probly not the best to answer all I've really used and still use are the lightforce lamps. always suited me so never really had to change

I use both http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 <<< this for spotting , but have used that for running as well, in small fields and this http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649

cheers mate, that second one looks about what I was after. I couldnt see from the advert on ebay the range of the beam how far out does it go and can you get recharable batteries with it

the beam is not supper tight, unlike the first one, beam will light 200meters up no problem mate, but will easy pick eyes up at 300 on big gear!

as for the betterys yes you can get 2 with a charger for under £10 in the uk
