Tiny 7 1,694
i have my 2 bitches like most when lamping you all ways have a couple of dogs we work from the car and all ways get good numbers but never double up on any think its nice to see your dogs working as a team imo who does run there dogs doubled up or single my mate never does it i cant see the problem in doing it .........whats your views Jo i told you last night when we were out, The reasons i dont run doulbed up is dont see the point in it, Its not like were trying too fill a quota for the game dealer ect, I like seeing one dog on its quarry but thats just my way like too know what iam holding on the other side of the slip, Ya you'll get more ect but i anit after bragging rights you know that, When we run its slip for slip dog gets a breather inbetween so we can run more over the course of the night, If we run ours doubled up there both doing all the running and so burn quicker over the course of the night ,Dog get used too running with another and then some start depending on another ect, Not my thing i like single slips as you know.... (Ps that brindle bitch of yours is hardly missing a thing what would be the point in running your other with her...? Honestly now where can you see the point/advantage) 1 Quote Link to post

shushycatcher 219
very rarely double up,but the odd occasion i do,then we ensure that both dogs are slipped at the same time in the same direction.Too many dead dogs from slipping halfway through a run! atb shushy 1 Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
on easy quarry that my lurcher can match ten fold then run single but me and my mates lurcher on the odd time will run double but they have a close working relationship during the day and read each other well so they run sensible together. but 99% time single all the way Quote Link to post

TheWizard 6
If you are going to double up I think one of the keys to it is when you slip the dogs. If you're going to slip one half way through a run you've got to make sure they're not going to meet head on or you're just asking for trouble. If done properly and you're out for numbers or, for the 'irish lads' - after charlie, then i don't see the problem with it. It can be a handy way of bringing a pup on as well, running it with an experienced dog. I've done this a few of nights over the last couple of weeks and my pup is a lot more switched on now on the lamp. Just my thoughts - I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who disagree. digginmad2011 57
dont see the problem with doubelin up if one dog is lacking confidence or speed i like doublein up when there are two dogs running if am alone then have no choice to slip single but like seein a team run the beam Quote Link to post
