just got back

just got back from an invite from a generous member on here doing a bit of ferreting on his permission not a bad day ended up finishing with six rabbits and a couple of escapees and two kill down under so lost the two ferrets for a while due to not having collars but they will be the next thing om my list to get. so a thank you alex [unlacedgeco] :thumbs:

Hi mate i would never go out without a locater but thas just me!

Why not??People have been ferreting long before the locator,i have locators but if the ground was right and i didn,t have them it wouldn,t bother me at all...

personnally i would not go without any collars anymore nothing to do with the fact i dont like waiting for a ferret thats layed up its if i loose one i have three kids and and wife to contend with at home 60 quid for a collar and an hour digging is better than three weeks in coventry lol

i ferreted for 15 years before i got a locater it learns you to be quieter round a set if you havent got one, i always made a squeaking sound when i fed the ferrets at home then if i got a kill i just made the same noise at a hole they usually came out to investigate what was going on. i always use a locater now but it wouldn,t bother me if i had to ferret without a locater
