Fox Bounty, Australia.

Recommended Posts

The Victoria Government, Australia, is starting a bounty system, $10 a fox and $50 a wild dog;

They say there is that many, it is impossible to eradicate them, but they have to control them........Fancy that; not only being ENCOURAGED to hunt foxes, but being PAID to do it aswell !!!

Cheers.

That country is far the way forward i no a Army lad over there whos got a Pig dog and when his house was being robbed he let slip the dog and it set about the imposter and when the police turned up th

wouldnt there be a probem in finding the dead fox/ferrel dog after its taken the bait graham

Remember dring through western australia back in 2005 charts, they were advertising fox shooting competition, groups included family groups/under 18's/over 60's, was all advertised in the public "eye" at diners etc, no shame and really great to see, if i was living in Victoria i'd be filling up the tank, loading the dogs and filling my boots.........

They say the most effective method is baiting? :hmm:

I take it they mean poisoning them? Could be an easy way to make a lot of money if it is!

In the goverment blurb, they also mention hunting as away of controlling foxes. I'ts legal in Vic to take them with hounds and lurchers/terrriers.

Cheers.

Too true, there's no shame in it. If only the majority would see that.

Dream job too!

Well I would be lashing it out then. At £10 a fox you could earn a tidy wage if you had dope out left right and centre.

I watched a documentary, might have been Austrailia, not sure. But they were throwing meat laced with poison out of helicopters to kill ferral pigs!

:icon_eek:

Could not believe it.

Compared to this country where the dog would be put down and owner probably sued!
