birddog 1,354
there is greyhound in the make up of dobermans already is that where they get their smooth coats and streamlined shape? i knew of a pure doberman years ago that could catch hares single handed, i'm guessing their intelligence and fire could add a lot to a lurcher maybe lacking in coat a wee bit for my taste but could be handy enough Quote Link to post
judge2010 196
most dobermans over here are nervous wrecks (the ones i've met anyway) 1 Quote Link to post

Plong 21
Rember my uncle telling me about one he had seen years ago (late 80's) and it was sat on the top of its kennel, I don't know how high the kennel was but my uncle could not belive how high it had jumped. I don't know if it was worked or not. Quote Link to post

Moll. 1,770
Saw one not long ago in the dog & cat shelter, it was the double (shape wise) of a grey but with the B&T Doberman colour and head. Nice looking beast. 1 Quote Link to post

Yeah most of them are shit-the brother had 2 that were about as affective at guarding as a gerbil would be-saying that the best guard dog ive ever seen was a doberman. Quote Link to post

Bit of a sweeping generalisation of a breed, that Simmo !!!This one was far from thick, had pleanty of fire, and not a sign of nervousness ! I owned her for over 12 years, she was bred in Holland from German stock, I got her in Saudi and brought her back here. As for the "Urban Myth" of them turning on their master, well, she never turned on me, or anyone else for that matter ! I probably trusted her more than any other dog I've owned. Cheers. rabbitracer 4
A good friend of mine once bred a litter of these and told me not to bother with them , the whole litter never did anything worthwhile but what surprised me was he also bred a litter of rotty x grey's and he said they turned out half decent dogs Quote Link to post
