123456 146
If you start a dog on cubs as there confidence builds so does the size of the foxes. Then if they do get a bite as a young dog it won't be to painful and I was referring to entering single not doubled Quote Link to post

watchman 256
should always double it first few times no matter what the X is ..... should you,not so sure myself,i suppose to give a dog every opertunity then yes in the ideal circumstance this would be the case but many lads not in a such a position and may well have to enter single from the start, all those years ago before the ban Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
should always double it first few times no matter what the X is ..... should you,not so sure myself,i suppose to give a dog every opertunity then yes in the ideal circumstance this would be the case but many lads not in a such a position and may well have to enter single from the start, all those years ago before the ban people don't realise 9 times out of 10 dogs take more stick doubled then ran single, not a prity sight when quarry latched on dog muzzle being ripped off by other dog pulling and shaking while its still attached, always enter single start easy and build up as the confidence grows. if you have the right situations when out Quote Link to post
watchman 256
completly agree, Edited September 28, 2011 by watchman Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Born to run1803 makes a valid point about slipping a young pup with an experienced dog, yes if the pup gets grabbed by the muzzle then its almost certain going to put then pup off for any future slips, but I feel the way around this obstacle is not to slip the pup and seasoned dog together, rather slip the pup when the fox is nailed by the seasoned dog. bunnys 1,228
heard some things in my time ,why does a dog bred for whatever game or quarry need to be entered doubled feck me .enter the dog when it his ready not before .breeding will decide coupled with good handling the outcome ,even with the very best blood there his failures .this dog at 2 yrs old may be still immature and bneed the correct handler to put the dog back on track.whats the big rush with some of ya ,theres one thing i will say because its a bull cross one gets the wrong idea ,they are no diff than any other cross ,carefull handling and entering correctly at the right tiime.OR of course out spouts rubbish bred wrong well this may be the case in some cases but listening ta the speal the word in my mind cropps up havent got a clue .and i dont mean that to be offensive to anyone ,its how it his . Holding a dog back wont do it any damage but premature entering on the right quarry certainly will.atb bunnys. 1 Quote Link to post
