Guest Rabbiteer
This topic could have been in both the Running dog or the Snaring/Trapping section, But Little ted is going to be a ferreting dog and I want to tell you guy's what happened this morning. Sorry about the quality of the pics they were from my old phone. I have recently got a pup to be my first ferreting dog. He is about 16 weeks old and is a Whippety x Collie creation called Little Ted. We went out this morning to check a local snare line that im working at the moment. Coming accross the first rabbit Ted was curious but not affraid, and quickly got sniffing the bunny whilst I reset the snare. What then surprised me was that Ted indicated on the next two rabbits which were caught on a open fence. Now comes the great bit........................( for me anyway).............. I had to reset a knocked snare and put the rabbits down about 10ft away from me. Whilst I was on the floor Ted came up and sat at my face with almost a smile on him. Thinking that he had been up to something bad I looked around to see that he had dragged each of the three bunnies over to me. Linning them neatly up against my left hand side. I was so proud of him. I have been doing simple retrieves with him but nothing that heavy, the rabbits I swear were bigger than him. Heres a couple of pics when we got back home. This morning Little Ted was definatly my Super Ted, and I cant wait to use him with the ferrets next season. Edited March 19, 2007 by Rabbiteer Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
How great is that! A pup that wants to bring the rabbits to you at that age, and without being asked/told to. The future's bright for Little Ted I reckon. Quote Link to post
