logun 91
out of interest and this aimed at the lads from the statess that may be on here, you got your coil springs, long springs and jumps etc,but how many use the body grip as a leg hold.. im aware that some do so be interesting to hear how they perform etc. Quote Link to post
nod 285
i cant see these working that well unless the trap has caught the animal around the knuckle of the leg, otherwise they could pull free, bit like sometimes in the fenns all what is on the sprung trap is fur, i think this is caused by the bunny jumping on the tread pan with its back legs and riggling free, my 2p worth Quote Link to post

IanB 0
They would be no good logun, there not designed as a hold trap, they class them as killer traps. They might hold rabbits but would not hold larger animals and would cause injury more than anything.. Quote Link to post
logun 91
guess so ian. i saw pic few days ago of a 120 laminated and set up as foot hold at dirt hole etc.pan added and acted as foot hold would. just out of interest hence the post.. ps aint forgot. Quote Link to post
IanB 0
They would need to be heavily laminated to spread pressure, plus they dont have a means of locking like the standard foothold does as well as firing higher on the foot above the pad of a fox or coyote... Use the correct tool for the job,the genuine articles are better all round, obviously this is in the USA and the states were there use is legal. Quote Link to post
