Found my dog after 2 years

Recommended Posts

About 2 years ago i had a saluki/greyhound x whippet/greyhound dog he was great little dog on the lamp could hold his on hares and wasn't afraid to get stuck in on a fox but ferreting he had no interest in at all unless it was going well but i still would bring him along just to get him out but 1 day while ferreting i got a 4 foot lay up and was digging with only the small folding shovel and it was taking a while so the dog went into the middle of the field and just lay down in the sun then when i was finished and was getting the stuff together i looked around and the dog was gone ,i walked the area for a couple of hours searching with no luck ,were i was is very close to my house so i had just walked to get there so i walked home thinking he is probarly sitting in the garden waiting for me to get back,no joy so i got in the car and had a drive about with no luck for the next few weeks checked pounds rescue centers reported it in the garda station and even checked with the council to see if they had taking any dead dogs off the side of the road but i eventualy gave up ,but walking the dogs dismorning in the same place i lost him i came across a young lad with him and another lurcher bitch as soon as i saw him i knew it was him and asked the lad where he got him and he told about 2 years ago his bitch was in heat he the fcuker was in his garden for 3 days before he took him in he said he asked everyone around he knew with lurchers if they knew who owned him but no one came forward but i told him what had happened with me and him and we had a bit of a laugh about it but i could see the fright in his face but the the dog looked well and was in a good working home so i was happy to leave him with him but even

happier to know what had happened to him and know he was ok. just thought i would share that with yis and wondering what would yous of done in that situation.

I think you made a fair a well judged decision to leave the dog with the lad after two years fairplay mate. Good ending to what started out as a gutting story.

I actualy feel pretty good with meself for doing it and i got his number i we will go out for a lamp during the week

i just delighted to know he was ok he popped into my mind when i would see dogs similar to him at shows or seeing pic in here,he was in a bad way when i got him of a lad that didn't give a shite about him because he wasn't good enough on hares for him ,the thought of him going that way again wrecked me head

Wow, what an unusual story, truth be told i would have asked for a resoloution to get my dog back, perhaps offered him a pup in the future or some form of compensation, although same as you, can hardly blame the fella he did nothing wrong............

if the dog was in a bad way there would of been no questions asked i'd of just took him but the dog seemed happy and was in good hands so iv'e no problem leaving him be
