RSPCA Investgate TV Dog Trainner

Recommended Posts

that's what's ironic about it and typical of the RSPCA.....if heavy handed tactics weren't used then the dog would no doubt be PTS at some point because nothing else would stop that behaviour, but they don't see things like that, retards!

It's no secret that one of the main aims of the RSPCA is a total & compete end to pet ownership in the UK so they don't really care either way..

I wonder how many people who support them know that!! I would hazard a guess that virtually 100% of their supporters are pet owners!

he would be better off showing the mutt what to do with its energy rather than coming into conflict with it, the mutt is only holding energy back in cases like this,

the mutt will still see conflict as a way of resolving its energy because the f**king owners dont do anything with it,

channel the mutts energy into positive interaction and you wouldn't have that problem,

I am not trying to fall out with anyone!! :bye: I was merely pointing out that the reason for the outcry was the fact that it was the way it was done and how it would convey to the general public, that was the real Issue.

Once these media people get their claws into you and have whipped up a storm, unless you are very well versed at dealing with them you will be going down very quickly

This guy (wrongly in my mind) has lost his job, and now he is having a last ditched attempt at resurrecting his career with the indignity of having to publicly ask other trainers on how they would do it? Well at least he is 21 years old and now rightly or wrongly is famous http://coldwetnose.blogspot.com/

Regarding the Dominance theories for training and particularly in behavioral work, much of it is out of date that is not to say that it is not a factor that needs working on in many cases. But the days of standing in your dogs bed or pushing a dog into a down or sit, are no longer needed thank goodness. ;)

I saw this to and i can't see that he did anything wrong, watched it again on the link and he done a f*****g good job!!

And what the f**k dose this mean "

He kicked the dog’s food bowl away and put his foot in its mouth to establish who was in charge.

yes he moved the bolw but all i saw was the dog biting his foot FFS

Thats exactly how i dealt with my terrier as a pup with food aggression & possessiveness over the dish , kick it the other side of the kitchen & MAKE THE DOG understand it wasnt to be guarded , i remember at the time having to get in the dogs face . but it worked

It's not just the RSPCA that have complained about his techniques - it's all other dog trainers, dog organisations, not just pet owners.

The excuse the dog would have been PTS is mute. It is no excuse for promoting heavy handed and unnecessary techniques on television.

My dogs have received a kick up the arse on occasion but I do not show it on TV as a dog training technique.

If some moron tried this with his Rottie it would be front page news, a piccie of a snarling dog and more proof of the dangerous breeds around us.

He isn't kicking the dog, but the dog certainly isn't attacking him either.

On the next episode where he tries to defend his practices he shows how he trained a staffie while running it on a treadmill and feeding it at the same time.

Feed your dog while running it on a treadmill and it dies of bloat. His method will work, just as beating a dog works, but there are other, better ways of dealing with such simple issues.

Food guarding is one of the easiest problems to cure and feet do not enter into it once. I don't recall even neanderthal dominance techniques ever including insert foot into mouth.

He shouldn't be on television, it's good he no longer will be, now he can go back to his beauty parlour giving tanning treatments.

Look the problem is the owners.....some folk point blank should just not have dogs, especially well known little terrier types that could have an attitude problem. They thought it was a good idea to wear f*****g wellies to feed it.. :icon_eek: and thought it was a good idea to stand and shout across a room rather than shift it from the bed. Dogs will push boundaries....if they had skittled it across the floor with a strong "No" the first time it showed any aggression then the problem wouldn't have arisen. I would have liked to have a bet when it was younger they found it funny when it showed a bit of aggression but as the dog got older it began to be a problem....

BUY A HAMSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No offence to 6pack and sirius.....but they talk absolute shite! People like this don't understand the mentality of a pack animal and almost treat their animals as if they're people. Casso has got a point with the need to channel energy but that's not the only problem, the plain simple fact is that dog doesn't think it's the lowest in the pecking order, if it did but wasn't using it's energy it would get destructive but it wouldn't attack the family members!!! The dog needed putting into it's place, simple as that.

However! if that's true about making the staffy eat while it's running, that is ridiculous and he should be sacked just for that! nothing he did with the JRT was wrong though.
