jasper65 6
Can't say I thought the lad was over the top, aparantly he has now been sacked and also being investigated by the RSPCA. Neal 1,873
I can't believe this. My wife told me about a new dog trainer on the show and I was initially a bit sceptical but when I saw him I thought he seemed ok. I know this refers to kids rather than dogs but, time and time again, research shows that firm but fair leads to the best behaviour followed by too firm with too soft bringing up the rear. Mrs Mole 74
sorry, yes him was aggressive, but so was the dog, he was only showing the dog who was boss. Pity more people don't do the same, rather than out of control fecking dogs..And should try this on their kids,, The RSPCA are idoits and a waste of time.. Give the guy his job back.. The country has gone soft..
Malt 379
Imagine the fuss if he'd have scruffed the dog and gave it a shake or something? Maybe they shouldn't have shown him trying to discipline a dog that needs physical correction with the way things are today...

Sirius 1,391
I have seen this unfold through the media from the VERY start, and IMO yes it's a bit over the top. But I can see why people (dog trainers and behaviorists) are up in arms about it. It's the One Show who should of got someone who uses modern training techniques( reward based), as when promoting dog training to the general public it needs to be portrayed correctly. As people will replicate these kind of bad training methods badly as they saw it on the TV. Edited September 27, 2011 by Sirius
