appleblossom 685
Get your show dates and venues sorted out now at committe level for 2012, and pm them to me and I will compile a list of shows and racing events for next year to put up on the various forms. Sort it out now, earley and this will avoid 2 shows overlapping on the same date, and you will also get the dates and venue of choice.Otherwise you will have to take what dates are left. If 2 dates does happen to overlap, it will give each club time to discuss and sort out between themselves.Lets compile a list so every club or organiser can have a look at the list, and If the list has to be ammended because of overlapping, just pm me when new date agreed and I will ammend the list. I have no problem with that. Margaret Mc Stay
nancy 275
Apple most of the people on here are more concerned about hunting there dogs over the coming months the season has started thought this was a hunting site who cares about walking around a field like a show pony or running a dog in a straight line do you hunt your dogs? Now give us a honest answer?
appleblossom 685
Yes Nancy you want an honest answer, you will get one. Yes we did hunt our dogs to tragedy hit our family a few years ago. We hunted 3 nights a week and some weekends with my nephew the late Charlie Connolly from Monaghan, and I know quite a few of the huntsmen on this forum knew and hunted with Charlie as well,to Charlie lost his young life in very tragic circumstances which I will not discuss on this forum. Nancy I dont know if you have ever experienced tragedy, or lost someone very dear to you,but God it hurts and hurts very deeply into the soul. This put our hunting days almost away for good. A few months ago, John as he does every morning before he goes to work at 5 oclock am,takes the dogs across the fields. Sandy, Silver and Sasha crossed reds path just by sheer luck and put him to sleep, that was the first time we hunted, if you could call that hunting since Charlie died, and a few bunnies since, not much. We go to the shows to enjoy ourselves. You know Nancy, we do not care if the man or woman beside us in the ring shows or hunts their dogs, its immaterial to us. We go to the shows for the companionship, to leave our cares, trials and tribulations at home for a while, and for a good day out. Yes its nice to win,but Nancy there are some things in life more precious than showing and hunting, take it from me I have been there more than once. Nowadays We both work full time, sometimes day, and half way through the night, which does not give us very much time for hunting, and anyway we are getting to old for that game, but hopefully we will manage a few nights out this season. Nancy, thats the truth from the heart. Hopefully this answered your question in full.

pigsy 34
Now the lurcher shows have stoped are you now at the championship shows with the same dogs tou had in the working class?
appleblossom 685
No Pigsy, went to Comber open show last week with Reilly, our Whippet who got very highly commended,Could not take Silver as she is ready to pup any of these days now.But I can say with hand on heart, there were many working whippets at that show.By the way Reilly is the father of the pups, who sneaked in behind our backs, beleive me this was not planned. No the only dog we put into the working class at the lurcher shows is Amber our lurcher or Jessy.and yes we will attend the championship shows in the winter, we may not enter all of them, but sure when you are getting older, and the days are growing shorter, isent it a day out for us old pensioners and a chance to make some new friends in the doggy world. Thanks Pigsy for your interest, and stop hiding behind your name and come up to me at some of the shows for a chat, and if I have any tea left in the flask, i will give you one. I will make you very welcome as I do with everybody I come in contact with at all of the shows.I know you have a big heart, love hunting and your dogs behind that facedd. Off now to play Bingo now with my Monaghan friends in the Drive In Bingo in Gibbstown Co Meath. Wish me luck

appleblossom 685
Nothing at the moment Storm 2010, ground to hard at this time of year for racing. There is coursing at Green Road, Dowdalls Hill Dundalk, on Boxing day, and the day after. A great curer after Xmas, and also a great day out.We have been there now 3 years running, and to be honest, I am looking forward to it this year again.Unfortunately last year the snow put a damper on proceedings, but it was still held a few days later.
