barry lurcher 27 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 went out with the 16 month old lurcher last nite about 10 ish coming on ok 27 and half inches, not much at all about except i saw a black rabbit ! , so i thought i would go on down to the docks. check out the fishing put the big lamp away had the little torch on plenty of eels in the margins , he saw a bunny chased it across the road onto a bit of waste ground called him back ,put him into the estate reversed out boot was not closed so opened it and the sight that greeted me well blood was pouring out of the car onto the floor . front left leg in between the first joint below the knuckle ,i was shocked to say the least !!!, sped home that took about 7mins !!!!!! ran in gotta towel screaming at otherhalf to phone the vets , panic had well and truley set in at this stage !!!!!, my mate came from across the road out he could not belive the scene i was plastered in blood by now . anyway i held the towel firmly over the leg the vet was saying on the phone is it life threatening took the phone started ranting so took him to vets about half hrs drive , got there carried him in 33 kilos !!! vet took a look shaved his leg and applied a pressure pad. it stopped well was trickling by now i was expecting the worst, but she said it was a small cut but deep,the artery wasnt knicked but the vein was cut instead dog is now sedated in vets gotta ring tomorrow to see if bleeding has stopped, if not its surgery ! i just hope the lad is ok feel a bit sick at the momment and hope he has not lost too much blood am on tender hooks hoping my dog is going to be ok paul Quote Link to post

If the dog had lost to much blood the vet would of informed you mate. Dont worry there good at ther job its the b*****d bill that the killer. barry lurcher 27 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 update the dogs still bleeding this morning but it just!! dripping now so he is having op now to stop this vet said this morning her " words " blood was pumping out horrendus ( sorry about the spelling) last nite, tell me about it i was thinking in my head when she was asking me over the phone is it a life threating injury kept me waiting for an hr . been told also its a very small punture wound just in an unlucky spot, still trying to figue out how he got it front leg about 5 inches up and on the inside . outcome is he should be ok just worried with the blood loss he might be a bit weakened and anastetic fingers crossed paul Quote Link to post

barry lurcher 27 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 Once its had its op it,ll be fine mate, frightening at the time though, atb i was shitting myself because i could see wat was happening, but some nurse then vet over the phone saying take the dressing off to see if its spurting, spurting !!!!! making me wait , the estate looks like a murder scene!!!! driveway also and the house has bloody foot prints everywhere !!!!! if ihad been stopped by the police last nite on the way home from the vets they would have locked me up no questions!!! asked caked in blood from head to toes i was. bleaching drive now and house ! you just feel so helpless in those situations and just remembered half way home and going through a roundabout a fecking fox just sitting there !!!!
