ok my lurcher pup he is neary 14month old now.works great, touch wood no serious injurys or limping or stuff.a few times now.prob 5 times since i got him he has been lying on the floor or on the sofa.when he suddenly starts yelping,he is obviously in pain.it only lasts less than a minute.ive checked him all over, nothing.even pressed his belly.maybe thought he was a bit binded.nothing!

anyone any ideas,im not going to a vet cause its obviously nothing life threatning.im toying with the idea growing pains?

Its a good chance it is cramp, make sure the dog drinks regular and possibly put a small amount of electrolytes in his water.

My dog used to do the same if he'd been lying on his leg a certain way for a while. I put it down to him being a big fecking baby and panicking if his leg went to sleep, got cramped or he had pins and needles in it. He grew out of it.:thumbs:

just looked it up and apparently cramp is caused by 3 main things : - dehydration- lack of potassium - lack of vitamin DSo if you make sure the dogs has plenty of liquid you will combat the dehydration. For the potassium feed raisins, a handful of rasins contains double the amount a banana does. As for vitamin D - milk and sunshine are both great sources. Hope this helps scot, horrible to see your pride and joy in pain aint it
